Character Sheet
Name: ((This is where you place your name. Your Clan should be your surname.))
Clan:((This is where you state in what Clan your character was born to.))
School:((You can say what school trained your character here.))
Insight Rank: ((Your insight rank explains when your character increases in school rank. To find this number add all your rings together and multiple them by ten and then add the total of all your skills to that number.))
Honor: ((The start off stat for this is given in the school you take in the Core Book for Legend of the Five Rings 4th edition. You can talk to any of the Game Masters about what yours should be if you need any help.))
Fame: ((This on average starts off at one which equals out to ten in this rank. Example, a start off character will usually have something like this, 1(10), but this can change depending on certain Advantages and Disadvantages.))
EXP: ((This will start off and zero and your GM will award experience at the end of every session. The total amount is determined by the GM themselves. Whatever you do not spend remains on this page. Example, at the end of a session a character is given a typical five experience, to do whatever they see fit, and with that they want to advance a skill from one to two, which would leave them at three for their total, they would just put three on this page.))
Rings((The rings and their individual attributes create what and how well you can do key things in the game of Legend of the Five Rings. The way rings work is that they can only be as high as the lowest attribute that makes up that ring. Examples will be shown as follows.))
Earth 2
Stamina – 3
Willpower – 2
Water 3
Strength – 3
Perception – 3
Fire2
Agility – 2
Intelligence – 2
Air 3
Reflexes – 3
Awareness – 3
Void 2
Skills((Skills are intended to show traits or other things that your character has become capable of doing through training or some level of innate mastery. Whatever school your character is trained in will give you a list of Skills you get or may choose naturally. While you are creating your character you do have the chance to buy whatever you feel he or she will need you should consult your GM if you need any help with this process. Not all Skills have mastery levels. Examples on how this should look will follow.))
- Athletics – 3
- Kenjutsu – 4
- Games – 6
- Investigation – 2
- etc.
Health((I’ll let someone else put this into words. I had a hard enough time with three people telling me what to do.))
Techniques((This is where you will list the game or character affecting things you can have your character do in game. This on average come from your school rank or from mastery in key Skills. If you do not have a copy of the Legend of the Five Rings Core Book 4th edition then a GM can help you out. Examples as follows.))
- School Rank One: ((I would prefer that you use exact words from the book so there is no confusion on any of the techniques in question. A quick summary of the technique is more than acceptable, though.))
- Athletics Mastery Three: ((Same as above.))
- Kenjutsu: ((Same as above.))
Possessions((The School your character was trained in will have a list of items that you start off with. One such item is listed as a traveling pack and this can hold up to ten items, unless one item takes up multiple spaces. Examples as listed below.))
- Katana
- Scrolls
- Travelling Pack
- Item in pack
- Another Item in Pack
- etc.
Disadvantages((These are the perks you take that actually make you worse at certain things your character does in this world. This might sound like a bad thing that you would never consider doing but every perk you take here will contribute a point value that you can use to make your character better in other areas. Know however, that a Disadvantage and an Advantage should never contradict each other. Every GM on this site may also have any number of house rules. It is best to consult them on these rules beforehand. You should list the name of the Disadvantage, the type of perk, the emphasis (if needed), the extra points earned, and a description of the perk. Examples are as follows.))
- Fascination: (Mental)[Horses] - You are completely fascinated by some subject, and will go to great lengths to learn more about it or to experience it in new ways. Typical subjects of a samurai’s fascination include music, horses, poetry, and history. This fascination badly impedes your judgment, and you will take even dishonorable actions to learn more, which could end in absolute disgrace if your actions are discovered. [1 point]
Advantages((Essentially the same as above but instead of being bad they are in fact good for you and they cost points instead of give you points. There are some perks here that require more input from your GM then others. The example above should suffice.))
Misc((This is where you can put all the advancements you gain from using experience you gain from sessions with your GM. Examples as follows though you can be as detailed as you wish.))
- Raised Athletics from two to three.
- etc.
